Many times when opening a Camera Raw file into the Photoshop Elements 2026 Editor on Mac Intel laptops with installed Camera Raw 17.3.1, the Menu Bar (top of the screen with File, Edit,Image, etc) freezes meaning it doesn't respond to clicks to reveal the menu items. Seems to be the same bug that has been reported in the Photoshop forum: https://community.adobe.com/t5/photoshop-ecosystem-bugs/p-ps-25-12-on-macos-15-menu-buttons-freeze-after-using-camera-raw-liquify-intel-macs/idi-p/14870909#comments When the Menu Bar is frozen it turns into bold text like in the screenshots below: Usually one can unfreeze the Menu Bar by using a keyboard shortcut for File>Save for Web or File>Contact Sheet II or Filter>Correct Camera Distortion. Then the Menu Bar text turns to the normal regular text and unfreezes as in the screenshot below: This is on a 2015 MacBook Pro running macOS Sonoma 14.8.1

Make sure your doing Get Info from the Adobe Photoshop 2025.app inside the Applications/Adobe Photoshop 2025 folder.

You can still get the Refine Edge dialog by using the Shift while clicking on Select and Mask in the Select menu

If you go to Edit>Preferences>Display & Cursors is the UI Scale Factor set to Automatic? You can try setting it to 200% and restart Photoshop Elements.

See if going to Edit>Preferences>Technology Previews, unchecking Enable Modern User Interface, then restarting Photoshop makes any difference.

As far as i can tell this issue is only on the Windows side with PSE 26. Tested several Mac installs of PSE 26 and no such error occurs.

Yes i'm afraid for whatever reason Adobe Photoshop Elements versions 2022 and older don't seem to work on macOS Tahoe 26. https://community.adobe.com/t5/photoshop-elements-discussions/p-photoshop-elements-on-macos-26-tahoe-does-not-launch/m-p/15510561 Probably the easiest course of action is to upgrade to Photoshop Elements & Premiere Elements 2026. https://www.adobe.com/products/elements-family.html

The preference (Edit>Preferences>Plug-Ins Windows and Adobe Photoshop Elements 2026 Editor>Settings>Plug-Ins Mac) to point to a plug-in folder from within the Photoshop Elements 2026 Editor doesn't seem to work on either the Windows or Mac side. You can, however, put the plugins on the Windows side in either C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Plug-Ins\Elements 26 or C:\Program Files\Adobe\Photoshop Elements 2026\Plug-Ins On the Mac side the plugins only seem to work if put in Macintosh HD/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Plug-Ins/Elements 26

Listed in Other versions are Photoshop 25.12.4 which is Photoshop 2024 and should work on macOS 13 Ventura and in fact the latest version of Photoshop 2025 (ps ver 26.11) should work on macOS Ventura. There is also a much older version Photoshop 22.2 for 3D functions that should work as well.

On the Mac side there is no preference for UI Scale Factor, since that is handled by the operating system. On Macs one can adjust the screen resolution to have the similar results as in Windows systems under Scale and layout. Depending on the actual pixel dimensions of the Mac's Retina screen, one of the choices may be the equivalent of 1280 x 800 as shown in the screenshot below.

The Droplets seem to be fixed in the latest Photoshop 26.11, so in Photoshop i would go to Help>Updates and install the latest Photoshop, Camera Raw, Bridge and Lightroom Classic.

The system requirements for Photoshop Elements 2026 clearly state that the minimum screen resolution is 1280 x 800, yet as shown in the screenshot below the Tools panel color chips are cut off at the bottom. On the Mac side, when using the Adobe Photoshop Elements 2026 Editor and the installed Camera Raw 17.3.1 using Help>Install Camera Raw, if you open Camera Raw click on Browse Profiles, then click on any of the available profiles, both Camera Raw and the Photoshop Elements 2026 Editor immediately crash On the Windows side Camera Raw freezes and has to be forced quit using the Windows Task Manager.

This is a bug report for the Adobe Photoshop Elements 2026 Editor On the Mac side when putting plug-ins/filters into Applications/Adobe Photoshop Elements 2026/Support Files/Plug-Ins causes an immediate crash when starting the Adobe Photoshop Elements Editor 2026. You can, however, put the plug-ins/filters into Macintosh HD/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Plug-Ins/Elements 26 and they work fine with no crashing. In addition, using Adobe Photoshop Elements 2026 Editor>Settings>Plug-ins to point to a folder with plug-ins/filters does not work.
